Eastern Wild Turkey

The Eastern Wild Turkey is the most widely distributed and abundant wild turkey in the United States.
It inhabits roughly the eastern half of the USA and Southern Canada.
It is found in the hardwood and mixed forests.
It's upper tail coverts, which cover the base of the long tail feathers are tipped with chestnut brown and the tail tips are a dark buff or chocolate brown.
Mature adults can weigh up to 20 lbs. for the gobbler and 12 lbs. for the hens.
