Eastern Wild Turkey
- The Eastern Wild Turkey is the most widely distributed and abundant wild turkey in the United States.
- It inhabits roughly the eastern half of the USA and Southern Canada.
- It is found in the hardwood and mixed forests.
- It's upper tail coverts, which cover the base of the long tail feathers are tipped with chestnut brown and the tail tips are a dark buff or chocolate brown.
- Mature adults can weigh up to 20 lbs. for the gobbler and 12 lbs. for the hens.
