Chukar Partridge

Chukar Partridge (Alectroris chukar)

  • The original ranges of the chukar are Afghanistan, Himalayas, Nepal, Northern India, and Northern Pakistan.
  • The Chukar is most often raised for sport hunting as they are strong fliers. Males dress out at about 18 – 20 oz. at 20 weeks, and hens about 14 – 16 oz.
  • The chukar is white meated, and considered by many to be more tasty than any other gamebird.
